How to Worship Lord Ganesha


Lord Ganesha the elder son of Lord Siva, sometimes called Vinayaka, the Supreme Leader. He also known as Ganpati, the Lord of the Ganas. He also called by another name, Vighnesvara – the remover of Obstacles.

All these names indicates, He is the master of fortune and even the divine forces cannot obstruct His path. This is why all Hindu rituals and auspicious deeds are initiated by first invoking to Him.  

Believed that all disturbances that arise from within us and around us can be defeated with His grace only.

One of the most popular deities among Hinduism, Lord Ganesha represents effervescence and knowledge. Ganesha is one from the five prime deities of Hinduism. The other four are – Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh and Goddess Durga.

Astrologically Wednesday is the auspicious day for worshiping Lord Ganesha. Wednesday is also the day of planet Mercury: the planet of success and Lord Ganesha is also the lord of success.

How to worship Ganesha

If a person has a weak Mercury in their Horoscope, then he must worship Lord Ganesha whole heartedly on Wednesdays to have a positive results.

By this Lord Ganesha definitely bless them with luck and fortune.

1. Students for education.

2. Those willing to get out from debts.

3. Improve earnings.

4. Grow up in career.

5. Defeat obstacles in life.

6. Increase savings

When ever there is a lord Ganesha photo or an idol in any temple, there seen always goddess Saraswati and Laxmi beside. This indicates, for education we need blessings of lord Ganesh along-with goddess Saraswati also.

So students perceiving education and willing to attend higher position should always pray lord Ganesha.

Also those having high debt should pray Ganesha to get relief from debts.

The persons who are in business or self employed, worship lord Ganesha for improvement in their income.

      1. How to worship lord Ganesha:

1. Put a pic or idol of Ganesha for worship at home or office.

2. Recite Slok or Ganesh mantra.

3. Offer Dhup Deep and Naivedhya.

4. Worship daily but on Wednesday it’s Specific.

5. If Ketu is malefic in Horoscope, then fasting on Tuesday is the best remedy to Ward-off negativity.

      1. How to pray lord Ganesha for better income:

As we are aware, we are praying to Lord Ganesha for education and Success in career. At the same time Lord Ganesha along-with success also gives rise in income and savings. For this worship Ganesha in following way

1.Instead of Sitting Ganesha, use picture or idol of standing ganesha. This could helps in the higher income gain.   Purushotham Maas

2. Lit a deep with coconut oil and ghee and offer it to the picture or idol.

3. Offer Jasmine or other flowers while prayer.

4. Recite with the Vinakaya slok (Shuklam bharadaram…)

5. If possible Chant a Ganpati Atharvashirsha

Prasanna-Vadhanam Dhyaayeth Sarva-Vighno–pashantaye!

This Sloka is for lord Vishnu and then continue as with below sloka.
